Why are you in business?

The answer to this question is what gave me the motivation to really jump start my business and not stop until I can have my “why”. For me, I started building my online businesses because I wanted to be able to travel and surf whenever I wanted to without having to ask someone else’s permission. And this business has allowed me to move across the country where I can now wake up every morning and surf for about an hour or two before coming home to work.

This “why” is so powerful to me that I will work as hard as I have to in order to have it. So, what is your “why”? Why are you in business or want to get into your own business? If you can’t answer this, it will be 10x tougher for you to get past the inevitable hurdles that every business owner eventually has.

This is a short post, but it was something that I wanted to share. Share your why with me in the comments below. Sharing helps you solidify your “why” because it is out there. So let’s hear it!

My “why” is to use creative energy and talents to live so I’m not worry about money or my living situation. I want to wake up each day amazed at the projects I’ve created and get to work on. And when I come home I want my living space to further allow me to create. And during my lifetime I want to see the numerous beautiful creations of other talented people, but most importantly those sights created by the greatest creator ever GOD.

That is an extremely powerful “why” you got there. Mine like yours is not so much about the money, but just being able to feel a certain way. All power to ya Marc!

My “why” is all based around freedom. Personal freedom, financial freedom, creative freedom, etc. I work from home and I’m able to take working vacations anytime I want to anywhere I please.

Freedom is a powerful thing, all the way around. Having my own business has allowed me the freedom to choose my own destiny.

This is huge benefit from being your own boss.. However you also need to able to do the time managing. It can be quite tough to do that, if you just go around surfing.

You have to have discipline, if you run your own business.

With benefits there is also cons.
